Armed robberyCity police said they arrested a teenager following an attempted armed robbery Thursday and charged him as an adult in the incident.
Just after 12:15 p.m., police were called to the 2000 block of West Street for a robbery in progress.
When they arrived, the victim told police that he left his apartment on Madison Street and noticed his scooter was missing. When he walked to the rear of the building he told police he saw Ronald Dow, 17, sitting on his scooter, police said.
Dow was holding a knife and demanded money from the victim, who said he didn't have any cash and would have go to an ATM to get it.
Dow told the victim they would ride the scooter to get the money, but once at the bank the victim went inside and asked the bank teller to call the police.
Officers arrived to find Dow sitting on the scooter outside of the bank.
Police said Dow was charged attempted armed robbery, attempted robbery, wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft under $1,000.
He is currently being held on $1 million bail.
GAMBRILLS Pedestrian struckA pedestrian was hit by a car in Gambrills Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.
The accident occurred at 4:25 p.m. at Symphony Lane and Maytime Drive.
The 19-year-old man was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

GLEN BURNIE Pair robs Taco BellCounty police are looking for two men who robbed a Glen Burnie Taco Bell on Tuesday night.
Witnesses told police two men walked into the store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway at 10 p.m. One had a gun and demanded money from the cash registers.
The clerk behind the counter complied and the two men ran out of the store and hopped into a white Lincoln Navigator, police said. A third person was in the vehicle.
The vehicle headed west on Ordnance Road toward Heritage Hill, police said.
A search did not find the suspects or the SUV.
Police said the two men who robbed the store are African American, both about 5 feet 9 inches tall and with thin builds.
The one with the gun was wearing a gray hoodie and had a black-and-red bandana covering his face.
The second suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black ball cap and a similar bandana.
