Ever wondered why some cars, regardless of whether they are Japanese, Italian or German, like in many ways? The reason is simple. Each time in a while, comes a conception of the founders and sets the trend that other manufacturers follow, often unintentionally.
So what is it about the design that clicks and makes automobiles immortal? While experts are still trying to figure that one, one thing is certain: the design of the automobile that cultural differences are more pronounced in some countries than in others.For example, while Japanese cars are known for their boxy designs, English are famous for their conservative views and stuffy. While the Germans choose functionality over form, the Italians are known to do just the opposite. What all these mean for India, where analysts predict self a lot of action in the automotive sector in the coming years? The reality is, we do not have yet arrived on the scene.
While many Indians were proud of Dilip Chhabria association with the Aston Martin Vanquish in the James Bond film Die Another Day, his critics do not waste time to explain that he had nothing to do with design of the car but was roped into the design to prototype. These ambiguities arise because the field is relatively new in India, and often people do not care to distinguish between design, engineering and modification.India has not really had a great car designers who have been associated with car companies for a period of time, like Chris Bangle of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Bruno Sacco Quément the Patrick Renault, which had ten years of association with their businesses and who have become celebrities in their own right, says Gautam Sen, automotive expert and author of Book Design car.
Auto Design is a specialized subject and is a costly affair as well, says Rajesh Mirajker based in Chennai, which won the prestigious International Competition car design in Japan in 1991.He leads the industrial design firm called Design and transport Mirajker.
Mirajker called automatic design is inherently restrictive.

Die Another Day filmmaker’s new The Devil’s Double set to release in India. The Devil’s Double is a 2011 drama English film directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Dominic Cooper, Philip Quast, Ludivine Sagnier and Raad Rawi.
It was released on January 22, 2011 at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and will be released in limited theaters on July 29, 2011 by Lionsgate and Herrick Entertainment. After making a huge wave at films festivals in Berlin, Sundance and Cannes, The Devil’s Double directed by Lee Tamahori, who earlier made films that inlcuding Bond Film Die Another Day, Once Were Warriors and XXX 2, film starring Demonic Cooper is set to release in India and Pakistan. The film is said to be based on the true story of Latif Yahia, an Iraqi military man who was pulled to become a body double for Uday Hussein, the seriously mentally ill son of ruling slave-drive Saddam Hussein has been put up to Indian audiences by Rakesh Jain of JRD Films. The movie is slated to release in August in four languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across the country.
