Jane Velez-Mitchell's Casey Anthony Release Coverage Worse Than Nancy Grace

Velez-Mitchell and Galanos are still on air at HLN, four hours later, milking Anthony’s release for all it’s worth.  They were just speculating about whether or not Anthony will give a television interview anytime soon.  Galanos said, “Casey Anthony is too toxic [for a major network].  There would be too much backlash.”  The pair added, “People say they won’t watch, but they do.”  According to HLN, protesters at the site of Anthony’s release made it clear that they will boycott any corporation that gives money to Casey Anthony.  Whether or not Anthony will get a movie or book deal remains to be seen.  One thing is for sure, her name is not likely to disappear from the press – including this site – anytime soon.

Since that’s the case, what I would love to see is some substantive discussion about what went wrong during the Casey Anthony trial and what can be done to punish sociopaths for their pathological lies.  Casey Anthony was convicted of lying and did serve time in jail, but she walks free now without any sense of responsibility or shame.  She thought nothing of ruining her relationship with her parents in order to escape punishment for a crime that will forever remain unsolved.  She has shown no grief in the wake of her daughter’s death, and that fact alone – while not enough to prove her guilty of murder – should be a wake-up call for all of us, begging us to encourage the psychiatric community to begin to take the problem of anti-social personality disorders more seriously and to call con artists and manipulators out for their crimes.By investing in the understanding and treatment of these disorders, it can potentially prevent thousands of tragedies. Let us not be fascinated by the minds of sociopaths / psychopaths, we will really make an effort to deal with the scourge of crime caused by antisocial personality disorder. If the trial Casey Anthony could cause this kind of development, all the attention she received will be worth it.

I was channel surfing today (Sunday 7 / 17) and landed briefly on HLN. There was Jane Mitchell-worth mourning "where Casey Anthony?Did she go to the office of Cheney Mason? Does it works with a directed spray to the Ohio, or is it an illusion? We do not know where it is! It's not over! "Or something to that effect. Do they know how pathetic they look and sound? My opinion: it's over. If you want to pack your camera and go back where you came from, it would be over. News journalists to report news, and not try to create it. There is no more news outside the courthouse or the Orange County jail. Do us a favor. Go home. Let it go already.

Sun Rail Alternative: Chauffeur Driven Ferrari's - Florida ...

Proponents of the Sun Rail commuter rail project in Orlando claim the project will cost $1.2 billion to build and have 3700 riders per day. Studies have shown the average cost overrun for rail projects is 43% and operating losses range between 70% and 85% of the cost to run the system.

The Florida Department of Transportation estimates Sun Rail will cost $2.5 billion over the first 20 years.

If we want a “world class city” and a “city beautiful” a train spewing diesel fumes is not the way to move people. The $128 million we spend a year on Lynx buses is not fashionable enough so I propose an alternative to buses and Sun Rail.

I propose we buy every Sun Rail rider a chauffeur driven Ferrari. Not only will this increase ridership it is cheaper. If you divide the $1.2 billion capital cost by 3700 riders you have $324, 324 to spend.

Since as much as 85% of train users come off of buses I am sure they will not mind an entry level Ferrari costing under $200,000. We will have enough money left over to hire drivers for years to come.

Imagine 3700 bright red Ferrari convertibles on the streets of Orlando at the same time. What a beautiful sight. Orlando will become world famous for its unique transportation solution and it will create jobs. Someone has to wash and repair those Ferrari’s.

The other solution is to not build the system at all. Let the taxpayers keep the $2.5 billion and spend it creating real jobs in the private sector. Or use the money to prevent layoffs of teachers. We need commuter rail just as much as a Ferrari convertible. We don’t.

And in this economy we cannot afford either.

This is a great solution. Your idea will definitely solve congestion on our roads. Adding new cars and demand can only ease up gas prices for all of us. Well thought out.

Looking forward to widening I-4 as necessary with no regard to private property that the state and federal government will take over.
