*** Baker Hughes Assigned Patent ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 12 -- Baker Hughes, Houston, has been assigned a patent (7,971,657) developed by Glynn Hollier, The Woodlands, Texas, and Brett Boyd, Opelousas, La., for a "drill cuttings transfer system and related methods." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A system for handling drill cuttings conveys cuttings slurry into bulk tanks via a conduit. The bulk tanks have an un-pressurized interior volume that receives the slurry. A conveyance member positioned inside the bulk tank forces the slurry out of a discharge port at the bottom of the bulk tank. One suitable conveyance member is a screw-type conveyor coupled to a motor that applies a vertical motive force to the slurry. The bulk tanks hold the cuttings slurry until it can be discharged via the discharge port to a transport vessel for processing or disposal. For offshore operations, the system includes a separation unit on the rig that forms the cuttings slurry from fluid returning from the wellbore and a cuttings flow unit that conveys the slurry effluent from the separation unit to the bulk tanks. In one arrangement, a controller and sensors control the flow of slurry into the bulk tanks." The patent application was filed on Dec. 13, 2005 (11/301,369). The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A rock bit includes a shaft and a cone mounted for rotation about the shaft at a journal bearing. A seal gland for the rock bit is defined at least by the shaft and the cone. A compressible seal ring is positioned within the seal gland.

1999 s70 t5 valve job

My '99 s70 t5 with 132k miles is idling poorly causing the car to shake, and the mechanic who looked at it said I am not getting compression in cylinder #5. He recommends a valve job (not sure if it is the intake or exhaust valve but said 95% of the time that is the issue). The mechanic said they completed the compression test, and that is what told him it was cylinder #5. Cost is 3200-3500 for the repair. If you have a 'sticky' valve, it because of deposits which can be cleaned off with Seafoam and/or a high rev outing. The valves are designed to rotate above 2000 rpm to help keep deposits from forming. Many of us drive with MPG in mind and the engine runs under 2000 rpm, short trips which keeps the cylinder temps down, and 87 octane gasoline which doesn't contain cleaners. You might chack Cartalk.com for listings of decent local service shops in Austin. You are looking at less than an hour, but many shops charge a minimum of an hour for a job like that. So, no parts involved and if local labor rates are around $65-$75 per hr. that should be it. I would definitely look for a more "forthcoming" technician/mechanic! You can get a rebuilt and tested head from Clearwater Cylinder Heads for around $650.00. You would need to add to that about $175.00 in new head bolts and a gasket set. I would change the cam seals while I was there and also replace the timing belt so tack on another $50.00 or so in parts. You can swap the head in your driveway over a good weekend.
