KUWAIT, July 30 (KUNA) -- 1936 -- The first Council of Knowledge is formed, with the aim of placing educational policies for Kuwait and means to implement them.1936 -- Eighty Kuwaiti merchants welcome a decision to allocate 0.5 percent of custom tariff income to the budget of the Council of Knowledge, alongside four percent from fees collected by the Finance Department and another 0.5 percent of the Municipal Department fees.
1944 -- The Amir, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issues the first health regulation law, which includes 14 articles dealing with the regulation of the Heath Directorate.
1984 -- Ouda Al-Muhanna, a renowned Kuwaiti popular singer, passes away at the age of 85.
2003 -- Kuwait National Cinema Company opens three new movie theaters at Marina Mall.
2007 -- His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues law 61.2007 on audio-visual media. The law allows television and radio broadcast after obtaining licensing.
2007 -- Shooter Abdullah Al-Harbi wins the gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle competition at the youth tournament held in Qatar, after getting 591 points out of 600.
